Introduction I did not choose to be an artist. It chose me. Time and again, my environment has shaped me, just like the trees in my paintings. In 1995, I moved to London, Ontario with all of my possessions crammed a large black duffel bag. Once I was settled in London, a patron commissioned me to complete a mural. Soon after, I was asked to do another. Suddenly I had many art referrals. Within a year, with the help of the Small Business Centre, I launched my art business. For over a decade, I honed my skills, building a substantial portfolio specializing in commercial and residential art. My work has been featured in publications such as “Canadian Homes and Cottages”, and the “London Free Press”. In 2007, after the birth of my two daughters, my focus changed to creating personal art about current social and political issues. Recently, I have transitioned from visual paintings to recording my memoir. Writing has provided a different medium to unravel a complex Canadian account of human rights, privacy and genetics. Distilled to its core, it is a psychological thriller about going against the grain of society to ensure my survival.
