Introduction	I am Grandma Marsha & manage the family history project "Our Gene Pool" The project started with the desire to share genealogy stories and research for current and future generations. My own family history research has taught me much about who I am today because of the gene pool that combined to make me. We want this project to be more than names and dates. I enjoy the process of including the old and new family photographs and theme oriented digital elements to create digital memory scrapbook pages for the web and books for the family. These make our family history more fun and interesting. The Lancaster Surname project is responsible for expanding my interest to include DNA. I was fortunate enough to find a male cousin who tested his Y-DNA and I tested out maternal line with mtDNA. I started the project in 2006 with limited facts about our “fractured” family. Now I am working on becoming an accredited genealogist. Perhaps a new profession is in my future. My hope is that this project will gain the interest and participation of other family members and, in time, the younger generations will want to continue it.
