| Introduction | I am an elementary school teacher with fifteen years of teaching experience in SDA schools. I am a product of SDA education and graduated from Andrews University with a degree in Elementary Education in 1998 and started teaching in 1999. I taught 2nd grade for a total of eight years at a SDA school located in the Chicagoland area. In 2012 my family moved down to sunny Florida where I taught a 1&2 combo class in a small country SDA school on the outskirts of the Tampa Bay area. My latest adventure has been teaching 4th grade in the suburbs of Orlando.
One of my favorite things about teaching is being able to dress up as a favorite book character, a famous American, or as a 100 year old great-grandma on the 100th day of school! I have a passion for creating an engaging classroom environment in which all my students are encouraged to grow intellectually, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. I also enjoy creating teaching materials and hope to someday make them available on Teachers Pay Teachers. My interests in curriculum, technology, and social media help keep me current with what is considered best practice in the classroom. |
