Introduction Welcome to my world!! My name is Debbie Yanta and I'm a wife, mother, sister and artist residing in the hillsides of Lake Elsinore, Ca. Here is where I satisfy my sewing "addiction" by designing one of a kind handbags, giving new life to an ever growing bounty of vintage and up-cycled fabrics, jewelry, buttons, laces and all types of trims. I call these handbags "Essential Luxuries." As I see it a purse is "essential," absolutely necessary, vital and indispensable. The "luxuries" part comes into play when that "arm candy" your sporting, is made with luxuries from the past...giving you delight, enjoyment and emotional pleasure.
Interests My interests are so varied, and can change with the seasons. Vintage style, with all its lace, doilies and linens has always called to me, but I have a "wild side" that stops me in my tracts, whenever I see any type of animal print. Gardening, planting, and birds, also tug at my heart. And the season of "summer" finds me on the sands of a favorite beach.
Favorite Movies My all time "favorite" has always been Out of Africa" with Meryll Streep and Robert Redford on that wonderful African Safari, that they share, and the scene where Karen fights off the lions that attack their camp. And who doesn't love The Devil Wears Prada. Room With A View and Howards End are also at the top of my list. French Kiss, I could watch weekly, and although this is not a movie, the BBC series House of Eliott is just pure English spendor.
Favorite Music Jazz, Lisa Haley's Zydeco, Blues, Classical, everything from the 80's
Favorite Books Books are a favorite of mine, collecting them and reading, if time allows. My old worn Bible that was given to me as a child, with it's leopard print duct tape holding the cover together, is always by my bedside for comfort, inspiration, and encouragement. Cookbooks are a weakness of mine, even though I hardly ever cook. Crazy, I know.
