| Favorite movies | I like a variety of movies depending on the mood I'm in at the moment. I find myself really enjoying "Chicago" for the music and the strong female roles. I like "Age of Stupid" because it reminds me how shortsighted we can be as a species and reminds me that we all have a place in this world and we need to start questioning if we're really doing the best we can or are we just being lulled into thinking we are. I like Barbarella because it's sexy and left just enough mystery for me to watch it and realize sex was a good thing and capable of being "good" without scaring me when I accidentally watched it while I was quite young. It's still my favorite movie. |
| Favorite music | Anna Nalick is my favorite songwriter/singer because her lyrics resonate with my heart and her voice makes it real. Junkie Rush (Orlando based band) I love for their carefree lyrics despite their questioning of the world they see around them. Disturbed I love for their epic video game style music that bring out the warrior in me to push farther for what I want. It's worth it. I like GWAR for their satrical view of the world from an outside perspective. Their music is controversial and often misunderstood but they're not afraid to express themselves and they didn't feel the need to censor themselves for radio. |
| Favorite books | Clan of the Cave Bear this book series gave me a new perspective for looking at relationships and sex. From the brutal beginnings Ayla is known for in the movie itself it opens up into a ceremonial experience later in the series and celebrated in varying degrees of modesty and acceptance. I enjoy the Robert Jordan series Wheel of Time. This series has the largest most diverse cast of characters, cultures and lore that left me astounded by their detail and philosophy. |
