| Introduction | Dogs Trust is Ireland’s largest dog welfare charity. We opened our rehoming centre in Dublin in November 2009 and have since saved the lives of over 4,500 dogs and puppies. We also offer a national neutering campaign offering low cost neutering for dogs whose owners are in receipt of means tested Social Welfare payments. To date, we have neutered over 80,000 dogs through this initiative. We run an education programme offering free curriculum linked workshops to primary schools in Leinster, Munster and the South East. We focus on teaching 5-12 year olds the importance of responsible dog ownership and they get the opportunity to meet our resident education team dogs, Molly, Jake, Sadhbh & Conán. In 2012, we visited 36,650 children. We also advise the Government on any matters concerning dog ownership. |
