Introduction First, I am not a medical doctor. My doctorate is in Public Policy & Public Administration and I am an adjunct professor. I have done an enormous amount of research about gluten intolerance since September 2008 when one of my children was diagnosed with celiac disease. That research helped me to discover in Summer 2010 that I have gluten intolerance. For two years after my child’s diagnosis, I periodically inquired of the national GIG organization as to whether a group was forming in Montgomery. Finally, I convinced two amazing women (Ruth Givens and Pam Green) to partner with me in forming a local branch. We want to increase awareness, build knowledge, and facilitate communication for those affected by gluten intolerance. ------------------------------------------------ Disclaimer: Since I am not a medical doctor, any posts about products, tests, nutrition or diet should be viewed as simply my opinion. Always contact your doctor if you have any questions or concerns. A goal of our group is to identify medical doctors in our community who have a special interest in the gluten sensitivity spectrum.
