Introduction | Mela Saylor is an artist and writer who received her Bachelor’s degree in art education from Asbury College. She later obtained an Associate’s degree in Administrative Information from Stark State College of Technology where she discovered her love of Microsoft’s Publisher program. Art exhibits include her Senior Show, Lazar’s Creative Framing and Art Gallery, Blakelock & Gardner, and Second April Gallery in Canton, Ohio. She has had feature length articles published in The Perry Post and Doctor of Dentistry magazine. More recently she has had short stories published by the Greater Canton Writers’ Guild both online and in print. She has won the Ken Miller Award of Distinction for her writing from the Greater Canton Writers Guild and the Book Award from Ohio Poetry Day for her artwork. She served as president of the Greater Canton Writers’ Guild from 2008 through 2012 and after a year-long hiatus, is once again serving as president. |
