About me

Location New York, NY, United States
Introduction Holding degrees in art history and architecture, I am fascinated by how the built environment evolves in tandem with economic and social change. The contemporary residential real-estate market is permanently transforming NYC's iconic skyline. Contemporary changes compelled me to examine previous periods of change. One such period that parallels the transformation we are witnessing is the 1960s. My collection of chrome postcards provided the documentation. It is often in the prosaic artifacts from an era that we find the most profound insights. NYC is a constantly evolving entity. My motivation is not to judge present or past changes to the built environment and their impact on the city but to document them and let the viewer draw his own conclusions. Setting aside questions surrounding the benefits and drawbacks to social and economic change, the chromolithic cards can be enjoyed as the beautiful objects that they are.
