| Introduction | Allison Yan is a high school senior who appreciates art of any form. A dedicated violin student, Allison is currently concertmaster of her high school’s nationally recognized Honors Symphony Orchestra. She lovingly dabbles in the viola as well, playing as a violist in the Cincinnati Symphony Youth Orchestra and multiple chamber ensembles. As an ABRSM Music Theory Scholar with Distinction, she is always open to discussing the intricacies of compositions. Outside of her musical pursuits, Allison is a dedicated reader and writer. Her works have been recognized since she was very young through Power of the Pen; more recently, she has been recognized in the national literary magazine Polyphony HS. When not holed up writing or practicing violin, Allison spends her time leading a service club, volunteering with patients at Cincinnati Children's Hospital, and assisting with research at Cincinnati Children's Department of Experimental Hematology and Cancer Biology. Allison will continue her English studies at Harvard University in fall 2015. |
