Introduction	The Labor of Love Association was founded to provide hearing services to persons in Mexico including a coclear implant and now provides financial assistance for medical and educational services in Mexico and is authorized to issue tax deductible receipts. Its main focus has been to provide support for APNMI/La Gaviota, a Mexican non-profit clinic and school for children and adults with disabilities. The mission of APNMI and its affiliated school, La Gaviota, is to help persons with disabilities and their families bear the challenges incidental to their condition in the most positive way possible and with the united cooperation and efforts of the families. APNMI's primary goal is: “To help any person with mental or physical disabilities to reach his maximum potential as a human being and to enrich his life in any way possible.” APNMI has identified six areas of emphasis to assist its members in leading a life with dignity and happiness. These include Medical Services, Adapted Equipment, Education, Community Involvement, Emotional Support, and Occupational Training.
