About me

Introduction I love to teach elementary physical education and feel like I have the best career in the world! Providing my students with a quality, standards based physical education program is a critical component in developing the whole child, and I love helping my students learn to succeed in a wide variety of physical education activities. Health related fitness and lifetime wellness are physical education themes that are weaved into all our PE units throughout the year, and students are exposed to a wide variety of developmentally appropriate and differentiated activities that will help them learn how to be active for their lifetime. I have a keen interest in helping students achieve a high level of health and wellness through mind, body, and spirit, and work hard to develop students affective, collaboration and cooperative skills, as well as their physical and cognitive skills in PE. Students at Thorson have the opportunity to work with iPads in PE, and have integrated video analysis programs into student directed learning projects. The results of using the video analysis programs has been amazing for my students!
Interests Biking, hiking, swimming, kayaking, camping, photography, reading, visiting National Parks
