About me

Introduction Welcome to the personal blog and perspective of the Lived Experience Advisory Panel (LEAP) for the PRIMROSE Project. This personal blog reflects the views of LEAP members and not necessarily those of the project team at University College London. We welcome your comments, ideas and personal experiences of mental health and physical illness. The PRIMROSE project is a large scale study run by researchers at University College London (UCL). People with mental health problems have an increased chance of developing heart problems. The project aims to develop a training programme for nurses working in GP surgeries to provide better care. The LEAP is a group of 30 people (service users and carers). Their experience is expertise that will help inform the direction of the PRIMROSE project. . The LEAP is a critical friend to the PRIMROSE project. The LEAP discusses important topics and matters that will shape the direction and content of the PRIMROSE project. The LEAP is run by the McPin Foundation, http://mcpin.org/, where I am a Senior Peer Researcher (I was formerly Service User Expert at Rethink Mental Illness).
