| Introduction | I am a Junior in High School from a fishing community in Alaska called Homer. I grew up in Homer and have been going to school as well as commercial salmon fishing in the summer since I was in first grade. Going to Brazil is my first real adventure into the world. I was accepted into Rotary Youth Exchange this past year and have been preparing for this experience to the best of my abilities. I am hoping to become fluent in the language Portuguese and use it as a part of my career in the future. Today I feel like I have a strong structure under my feet because of the people that brought me up, my town has helped my parents raise me and I want to thank you all. |
