Introduction	Coming into a world far different than Texas, I was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Not being as familiar as others are, with their Texas History class backgrounds, with Texas and its government, I would like to learn more about it. I recently turned 18, and now that I am able to vote, I would like to make intelligent decisions fueled by the knowledge that I will gain from this class. By learning about Texas government from different news sources, I will be able to put into context exactly what is being taught, which will help me when forming my opinions and views. I want to better comprehend what exactly is going on in the Capitol and how it will affect me. I have not “declared” a political party to be my own, but I feel that I am more left-leaning with my views on euthanasia, welfare, energy resources, and global warming, among others.
