Introduction Growing up in Richton, Mississippi, my first typewriter was one of those with the wheel you had to turn for each letter you printed. The next Christmas, I found a real typewriter under the tree, but it printed capitals only. This fact hardly bothered me at all and I began pecking away at a story set in Holland, about which I knew nothing, but I based it on a song popular at the time: My Sister and I. Later, I became involved with the piano and writing little songs and piano pieces. Eventually, I wrote three chamber operas, while teaching piano and music theory at JCJC, in Ellisville (where we moved in 1942) but there was always this strong urge to be a writer and publish my own newspaper. Almost seventeen years ago, George, my brother, and I bought twin Fax machines, and began writing almost daily. That’s when I began writing Fax Facts. Originally, it was just for George but when our nieces read some of the first issues and they asked me to send them copies as well. When I got my first computer with e-mail capabilities, I began sending FF to everyone I knew who had a computer. So that is why my little News and Reviews weekly issue retains the name Frank’s Fax Facts!
