| Introduction | I'm an Assyrian whose grand-parents survived the 1915 Genocide committed by Ottoman Turks and their kurdish mercenaries against Assyrians in the Hakkari region (ancestral Assyrian lands - South-East today's Turkey) as well as against Pontian Greeks and Armenians. My deep roots are from the land today called Iraq (Assyria - Land of Ashur) but my family was forced to become another number in Diaspora due to local, regional and international politics aiming at uprooting, despersing and obliterating Assyrian existence. |
