| Introduction | I have always loved drawing and painting nature, animals and people. I fell in love with the work of classic children's book illustrators before I could read. I was particularly inspired by Pauline Baynes, best known for her work for Tolkien and C.S. Lewis. As a young adult I studied with naturalist and artist Robert Bateman. I admire the portraits of John Singer Sargent and have been greatly influenced by the High Realists and the mystical Ruralists. My training includes traditional fine art media and anatomical illustration. Now I work in digital media as well.
