Introduction	Hi and Welcome to Living with ITP! My name is Ruth. I live with my husband and four children in Dunedin, New Zealand. I was diagnosed with ITP in October 2010 at age 33. I am not a specialist. The opinions expressed here are purely my own. This is a journal of my personal experiences living with ITP. I hope that it may provide insight and encouragement to others affected by or living with ITP (Idiopathic/Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura) or other related auto-immune disorders that affect the blood.
Interests	I love Reading and Writing. I'm a true romantic. I love history - especially Medieval and Victorian English history. I have also been known to dabble in painting and quilting.
Favorite movies	Hmmm, tough call. The LOTR trilogy, Pirates of the Caribbean(love pirates!)and the Princess Bride. TV programs I enjoy are NCIS, Eleventh hour and Criminal Minds. I'm not into soaps.
Favorite music	I really like an eclectic mix of music genres. Big band jazz is my fav and I often listen to it when I write. I also enjoy Nightwish (think viking rock meets opera),"normal rock" music and a bit of classical, especially Tchakovsky's.
Favorite books	I enjoy a wide range of authors and genres of writing from classics like Jane Austin, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Charles Dickens to J.R.R Tolkien to Terry Pratchett,Cornelia Funke and many others I can't think of right now.
