Introduction	Karen was born in Oregon and raised in Sacramento, CA. She attended Hiram Johnson H.S. graduating in 1967. After attending Sac. State part time while working, she graduated in 1989. Karen worked for the State of CA for 38 years, retiring in 2005 to learn about real estate and have more time for volunteer work. She enjoys volunteering on church missions, at natural disasters, and at her grandson's school. Karen goes annually to Guatemala on a medical mission (photo taken on a walk after a day in the medical clinic). She has made five working trips to Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina and worked for 10 days doing clean up work after the 2008 San Diego fires. Karen helps interpret songs in sign language at church and enjoys going to the River Cat games. Karen has been divorced and widowed and is currently single and helping to raise her grandson who lives with her.
