| Introduction | My husband and I began dating as seniors in high school and have been together ever since. We were married on June 24, 2006. I am a teacher in a local school system and Kevin works for a missile defense contractor. Kevin and I were blessed with our first baby boy, Russ, in December 2007. We knew we wanted more children, but because of complications during my first pregnancy we decided to wait a few years. In November 2009 we decided Russ was getting to an age where he needed a sibling to play with. In March 2010, we found out we were expecting another baby. Sadly, our beautiful son Nicholas was born still on November 4, 2010. He will forever be our "Baby Dinosaur". It has been a long and hard 2 years since we lost Nicholas. I have learned more about myself than I ever knew possible. My heart still aches for him, but I do find joy in helping others going through similar situations. The Baby Dinosaur Project at Huntsville Hospital Foundation works to raise awareness of pregnancy and infant loss and to bring comfort to the families during the difficult time. |
