Introduction | A construction accident on July 13, 1994, changed my life in an instant. Adventure has taken a new level. I am now a low-level active quadriplegic. It is important for me to exercise daily and I attempt to achieve aerobic levels of exertion by riding my handcycle. I am in the process of putting together a tandem arrangement such that an able bodied rider using his/her leg power connected to my handcycle will make faster speeds possible. Let's go riding! I am a gardener at heart and a log cabin kind of guy. If it's city, I'm passing through. If it's country, I'm home. I don't know a stranger (unless I owe them money -- just kidding about the money part, that is). I am working with Voc Rehab in putting together a self-employment plan. My plan is to become a residential general contractor. And in fact my plan did happen regarding becoming a residential general contractor. I used it for a couple years then recognized it was costing more to keep the insurance and license fees paid than I was making so I ended up having to retire my license until the economy loosens up. |
