Introduction I have had alopecia areata since 2 but it was only some small patches on my head until I lost almost everything when I was 4. My hair eventually grew not knowing what kind of treatment I received because I could hardly remember anything then except some pictures. When I was 10, I lost 95% of my hair within weeks which my hair did grow back after few months being treated with oral and topical steroidal while retaining a few small bald patches. By 11, my hair was there to stay, fine and smooth hair until my 17th Birthday. I started losing hair rapidly and progressed to Alopecia Universalis within a year. I have joined Alopecia Areata Support Community (AASC) since Nov. 2003, and honoured to be elevated to the Assistant Manager post (2005) and the Manager post (2009) but I have stepped down on April 2011. I've travelled to Australia (2005), Singapore (2005), Canada (2007), United States (2007, 2010) and United Kingdom (2011) to meet my friends from the AASC. I am currently a farm veterinarian with interest in poultry, large animal, and exotic pets medicine. I am glad to be surrounded by friends and family who love me just the way I am.
