About me

Introduction First, I suppose we should get the matter of my name out of the way. I go by either "Will" or "Bud", so I'll leave it up to whatever you are most comfortable with. Though I am not a horticulturist by profession, I spent a couple of years at the University of Tennessee doing graduate work in ornamental horticulture and was fortunate enough to spend a year at the Tennessee Botanical Gardens at Cheekwood as Education Director many years ago. It was at Cheekwood that I first heard about this MTSU English Professor, Virginia Peck, who was hybridizing daylilies in new and exciting colors. That kindled my daylily interest and led to my first daylily collection. Within Region 10, I am a Senior Exhibition Judge and have served as the Region 10 Exhibition Judge Liaison and the Regional Publicity Director. Currently, I am serving as president of Region 10 - TN/KY. Locally, I have had several offices in the Middle Tennessee Daylily Society, most recently as president several years ago.
