| Introduction | I took up oil painting at age 40-ish when I enrolled in an oil painting class at Laguna Gloria in Austin, Texas. My first teacher was Marjorie Moore. Marjorie instilled in me the confidence in art again. I still vividly recall the first time I held a brush full of paint and stared at the blank canvas. The feeling I got when I brushed the paint on the canvas completely changed me. I was now on a journey and it was going to be fun and rewarding. After a few years I took lessons from Jerry Fresia in Lake Como, Italy. Jerry opened yet another world to me regarding adopting and working on a particular style. Picasso once said, "Life is a journey; art is the journal of where we have been and what we have encountered along the way. The search is nothing, the find is everything."
