| Introduction | Due to all of the experiences Jackie has had as a person with a disability, her interest in raising disability awareness has always been at the forefront. Jackie is a recent graduate of Kutztown University of Pennsylvania where she obtained her bachelor's degree in English/Professional Writing. As a student with a disability, Jackie participated in many opportunities that allowed her to speak to a variety of audiences, not only about her disability, but other kinds as well. In addition, she was involved in many volunteer and club activities dedicated to disability awareness while in college. All of these activities helped Jackie with her goal of raising awareness about disabilities and decreasing discrimination. Currently, Jackie is seeking employment in the areas of disability studies, writing, editing, marketing, or communications, but always keeps her mind open to new opportunities. In the meantime, she blogs about her life as a person with a disability and provides her spin on disability culture as the founder and owner of Disability Awareness 4 You, which can be found on WordPress, Facebook, Twitter, and Blogger. |
