Introduction The Bradford Girls' Choir has performed to local, national and international audiences. In the summer of 2009, they were honoured with the Senior Choirs Award at the National Festival of Music for Youth in Birmingham for their ‘outstanding musicianship.' Additionally they were placed as the top UK choir in the senior children's choir class at the Llangollen International Eisteddfod. Formed in June 2006, and consisting of 50 auditioned members, the girls rehearse weekly at St Joseph's Catholic College in Bradford. The choir has appeared recently on BBC 1 Television and Radios 2 and 4. The choirs first CD recording ‘Jubilate Deo' was made in conjunction with the Bradford Boys' Choir. Both choirs are part of the Diocese of Leeds Schools Singing Programme, the largest such scheme in the country. The girls have performed with various local groups including Leeds Cathedral Choirs, Bradford Festival Choral Society and the Bradford University Orchestra and Singers. In 2010 the choir will take part, by invitation, in the 9èmes Rencontres Internationales de Choeurs d'enfants in Provence, France.
