| Introduction | Originally from Clinton, Indiana, I grew up playing guitar in local bands and eventually got my first taste of Nashville with performer, Red Ryder in 1973. After a brief stint on the road I moved to Terre haute, Indiana and played in several local bands including Kid Lizard & Jimmy Dye's band. Moved to Nashville full time & was hired as staff guitarist for WSMV-TV Saturday Morning Show. Studied journalism at Volunteer State and began writing, eventually doing features for Vintage guitar magazine - Chet Atkins (3), Carl Perkins, Duane Allman, Mike Bloomfield, Elvis etc. Began work as a library assistant and wrote "How I Survived the Nashville Music Scene" then moved to Southern California to work for UC library system. Actively writing a book on inventor, Ray Butts. |
