| Introduction | I'm one of the "first generation" of Computer Science grads, with a CompSci degree from Penn State in 1974. I worked for 33 years as a systems programmer, first with Kodak, then IBM, before taking early retirement in 2006 to spend full time with Kingdom Ventures, Inc., which we had started in 2005. My time at two multi-national companies and my church involvements gave me opportunities to travel internationally, so it was only natural to find myself involved in international business. And my technology training comes into play almost daily as we pursue the path of e-commerce. I have a passionate belief that every person in this global community deserves a chance for a livable wage, which is why we are committed to Fair Trade. Certainly we cannot solve all the world’s problems through Fair Trade, but the respect and trust that can be built between people of different cultures through “just” trading can accomplish a tremendous amount. I invite you to join us on this journey whether you are a merchant trying to market Fair Trade products, or a retail buyer who simply wants to know more. We will try to have something for everyone. |
