IntroductionMy book journal is really a reading diary, a collection of thoughts, feelings and reactions I have to the books I borrow from the Bethel Tulpehocken Public Library. The goal? To spread the word about the great books you can find here and get you reading too!
InterestsReading--and researching the next great book to pull off the shelves at Bethel PL. I like to keep current on the latest fiction and nonfiction and scour the web looking for what's next, what's new and what's going to make my pulse race. When I'm not reading, I enjoy writing, walking, traveling, shopping, photography, kayaking, cooking, movies and theater. I'm also a member of a book club.
Favorite moviesBlack and white classics: How Green Was My Valley, Notorious, To Kill a Mockingbird, Some Like it Hot, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington and Dr. Strangelove. Also love The Odd Couple, Patton, My Fair Lady, Fiddler on the Roof, When Harry Met Sally, Moonstruck, Saving Private Ryan, E.T., and this year's Midnight in Paris and The Artist.
Favorite musicEverything from soft jazz and Broadway show tunes to classical, big band, and the oldies (specifically the 60s and 70s).
Favorite booksHmm. Where to start? If I were stuck on a desert island, I'd like the following books with me: Pride and Prejudice, Anne of Green Gables, To Kill a Mockingbird, In Cold Blood (didn't see that one coming, did you?), Memoirs of a Geisha, Loving Frank, Suite Francais, The Joy Luck Club, Cutting for Stone, Girl in the Pearl Earring. The list is always evolving.
