| Introduction | They say curiosity killed the cat, this was almost true for me when I was four years old. In a similar way to Benjamin Franklin I attempted my own discovery of electricity with a bedside lamp and my mothers gold earrings. The resulting shock melted the earrings, but didn't impede my curiosity - at 5 years old I found out how to use a screwdriver to take apart my toys, and at 12 years old I received my first soldering iron. In middle-school and junior-high I checked out almost every single book in our local library on robotics and electronics at least every month. I have yet to quell that enduring curiosity and I may possibly be increasing it with my pursuits in electrical engineering at UT Dallas. I am deeply fascinated with the world of engineering especially the areas that are hands-on. |
