| Introduction | For over 14 years I portrayed a fictional woman from 1898 in a series of dramatic vignettes I created for the stage, and in writing a syndicated column for newspapers that appeared in 24 states of the USA and Canada. All of this was just part of my creative life -- with artwork being another huge diversion (see my other blog "vintagelegacystudio" listed under links, if that interests you). Initially all this passion was a part of my early childhood. I spent many wonderful hours with two sets of great-grandparents learning of my own family heritage. Then, when my husband started back to graduate school and I had 6 sons, I delved back into it as what I called "my feminine diversion." My feet don't like the pounding on the stage anymore, so I only do the acting on a very small scale. This blog is a way to continue to share all the fascinating information in my collection of over 200 antique books and magazines. I hope you will share some of yours with me! |
