| Introduction | In January of 2010, I was on top of the world. I found out I was expecting my first (long awaited) child and it appeared that my mom had beaten cancer for the second time in her life. In May of the same year, my world came crashing down. My son, Logan, was born prematurely and passed away about an hour after birth. The following day, my mom was told that the cancer had returned and that she had less than six months to live. She passed away in October. 2010 turned out to be the most difficult year of my life and this is my attempt at picking up the pieces of a shattered life. |
