| Introduction | After escaping the bitter cold of northern Wisconsin winters (August-May; the other seasons being mud, mosquito, and the season when snowmobiles fall through the "ice"), I was tricked into believing that a PhD was a ticket to wealth and fame. Um, not so much. Thankfully I met A. in grad school, who shared my love of dining out, wine, and drinking wine while dining out. Marriage, baby, and home-buying soon followed, meaning we now have neither time nor resources to enjoy dining out with wine. Thank god for take-out, the repeal of prohibition, and a baby who sleeps through the night! I'm now happily employed in the non-profit world with one foot still in science, and the other in policy. Please note that neither foot is on a golf course. *sigh* I've now redefined "wealth" as the ability to buy an appetizer AND entree and "fame" as having the best townhouse lawn in the DC metro area. Livin' the dream!! |
