| Introduction | A friend said – by way of a chance remark one day, that when she reached fifty she decided that life was too short to finish books that she was not enjoying. I immediately took in a sharp breath – not finish a book how could that be? I virtuously prided myself in ploughing through anything that I started. But her comment set me on a complete rethink. Only a matter of weeks later I put down a really terrible book at page forty-something and I haven’t looked back. How does this line up with my career and personal aspirations? I’ve recently been described on a Linked-In recommendation as fun and tenacious. Leaving behind things that life is too short to worry about, creates the space for me to be funny and tenacious about things I really care about. And the happy collision of these two things was how the Blog - Life’s Too Short came to be. |
