Introduction	David Kamanzi is the founder of Joy of a Child Uganda. As a young teen, David’s parents were imprisoned and he was left to fend for himself. He eventually ended up living on the streets of Mbarara where his eyes were opened to the needs of his fellow Ugandans. Eventually, David was taken in to the home of a local pastor and treated like family. It was through this personal experience that David came to understand the needs of children living on the street and to value the centrality of a loving family home as an instrument of healing and transformation. Joy of a Child Uganda was born when David began caring for five boys in a small home in 2001. In addition to caring for these children, David began outreaches through soccer and relational evangelism, and God has used him to minister to hundreds of children through the years.
