| Introduction | I am 43 and married to Vanda. We have 3 kids and we live on a small farm near the airport. I have been a councillor for the past 5 years and I also grow turf and work part time at landscaping and gardening. I was born and brought up on a farm in St Ola, and worked in Orkney until I was 21. Then I travelled and worked in other places and then went to university in Aberdeen, where I got a degree in Geography. I stayed on in Aberdeen for another 4 years before returing to Orkney in 1998. I worked at gardening and as a councillor from 1999 to 2003 before leaving to work for DialaBus for 4 years. I am happy and contented in Orkney and proud I come from here. This is why I care about the place and want to contribute to keeping it as good as it is, or making it better. |
