| Introduction | For over a decade, the Walkers Lane Allotment Association has stood proudly behind the plot holders of Walkers Lane. That dedication paid off in 2023 when—three decades after any allotment in the borough last achieved it—we became St Helens’ fourth self‑managed allotment site. A huge milestone, and one driven entirely by our members’ passion and persistence. From young families to seasoned growers, our allotment community is buzzing with life. People come for the fresh produce and exercise, but stay for the camaraderie, the shared know‑how, and the sense of belonging that keeps isolation at bay. Walkers Lane is more than soil and sheds—it’s a lifeline. That’s why the Association continues to unite members, champion their voices, and push forward improvements. Together, we’re transforming Walkers Lane into a thriving, welcoming, self‑managed site that St Helens can be proud of. |
