| Introduction | I first picked up a camera while in high school and quickly became fascinated with depressing the shutter and waiting anxiously to get the prints back from the lab. Needing to learn more about the medium that would shape my life, I first studied black and white photography in Rhode Island and then made the trek south to study commercial and advertising photography at the Portfolio Center in Atlanta, GA. Upon leaving the Portfolio Center, I have worked on various advertising, editorial and publishing assignments with a heavy dosage of sports work. Some of my sports jobs have included all four professional sports, Championship boxing, the Olympics and pretty much everything in between. Although I have won multiple awards for my sports work, my priorities quickly changed following the birth of the first of my two children. Ordinary moments with my family are far more important and cherished than any perceived extraordinary event covering sports. Desiring less travel and to be closer to my family, my subject matter of choice has now become the fine art portrait. |
