| Introduction | Filipina, diagnosed with bipolar disorder since 1997, former RN/nurse educator medically retired, 100% service connected USAF veteran, runner, trained with Team in Training 8/11-1/12 to run my very 1st half marathon at the inaugural TinkerBell Half Marathon 2012. Oddly enough after hating even the thought of running for most of my life, I've become addicted to it. I'm Half Fanatics #1982 & hoping to join the Marathon Maniacs in 2013. Also trying to find out what life is all about when you're unable to work anymore.
It's no secret that I am the "survivor" of multiple suicide attempts...I put that in quotes because it really depends on my outlook each day whether not having been successful is a good or bad thing. There are resources to contact for help if you are suicidal or know someone whom you think to be, both are listed below one is for non-military (civilians) & one run by the U.S Department of Veterans Affairs for military veterans and their families. Both programs are operated through the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline with a chat or text option as well as telephone contact. |
