| Introduction | Florida native Edward Lein (b. 1955 in Fort Pierce) was a tenor soloist throughout his home state and his early works reflect his experience as a vocalist. In 2006 Ed was a finalist in the Jacksonville Symphony's Fresh Ink composition contest and his instrumental catalog grew largely due to requests from Symphony players.
Now retired, Ed was Music Librarian for the City of Jacksonville, producing the popular Music@Main concerts (2006-16). He was a regular contributor to J-Sym's ENCORE magazine from 2014-16, and gets frequent requests for his translations of French, German, Spanish, Italian and Russian song texts from such prestigious organizations as Orchestre symphonique de Montréal and Carnegie Hall's The Song Continues.
Degrees: BM (FAU, 1976); MM (FSU, 1983) & MLS (FSU, 1986) ⇒ More about Ed Free-use works can be found at LEINmachine.blogspot.com (but please notify me upon use while I'm still living). |
