| Introduction | Welcome to Willowbird Designs! I have always love nature and the animal kingdom. Since childhood I have loved to paint and draw animals, especially horses and birds. To make a long story short, I have recently taken my paintings to a new direction...away from "on the wall canvas art" to painting on leather. I have started creating what I call my "Whimsical Animal Bags". These bags are my "wearable art pieces/sculptures". My Animal Bags are one-of-a-kind creations of my own designs. They are unique wearable art creatures! I spend many hours or days working on each bag design idea, then many more days and weeks actually hand painting and sewing them. I use only the very best quality of leather hides, suedes and hardware that I can find. I take pride in my work and always strive for the best that I can do. These Animal Bags seam to "come to life" before my eyes as I paint their faces, they almost become my "pets" :) I do feel that they each deserve their own names and I have fun coming up with them. They are unique and fun for me to create! As well I make Medieval-Style leather pouches, bags and accessories for the Medieval Re-enactor. |
