| Introduction | T.J. Malaskee has been involved in the field of history for over twenty years. During his time at Minneapolis Community and Technical College while studying American studies and fine arts, he served as Student Body President and worked within one of the nation’s most diverse student bodies to confront contemporary issues of racism, discrimination, and institutional oppression. After much travel, he splits his time between Minneapolis, MN and Montpelier, VT where he writes, paints, serves as a cultural historian for the Minnesota Historical Society, and is a MFA candidate in creative writing at Vermont College of Fine Arts.He is a former Anderson Center for Interdisciplinary Studies Resident-Fellow & Jerome Foundation Emerging New York City and Minnesota Artists’ Grant recipient. His poetry has been awarded the John Engman Prize in Literature, and his fiction has been a runner-up for the same honor. In his heart, he is a 19th century Yankee farmer. |
