| Introduction | I have a Ph.D. in Spanish Literature from the University of Houston. My dissertation concentrated on a comparison of works by Mexican and Spanish women writers in which I analyzed how they depict the representation of the "femme fatale". In it I demonstrate how their texts subvert the patriarchal depictions of "evil women", and I discuss how they have both adhered to and deviated from established cultural and societal formulations when depicting women. In addition to my devotion to literature, I have varied interests, but I must admit that I am moved by that which is aesthetically pleasing. I hope you find my blog enjoyable and entertaining. |
