| Introduction | Several years ago my husband and I made the decision to become contract poultry growers by purchasing a poultry farm.
This decision has changed our lives in many ways. Some of this change has been positive, but much of it has been negative due to the way the poultry industry operates. I created this blog as an outlet for myself as well as in the hope that it might give others some insight into the world of contract poultry arrangements. Some may see this blog as "sour grapes", and that's understandable. But before you judge the information presented here I want you to know that as far as actual performance, our farm has done extremely well. Our flocks have been consistently above average with extremely good weights, but as the years go on it gets harder and harder to keep our heads above water financially. Forgive me for not using my real name as retaliation by the companies against growers is very real, but rest assured that the information I share will be as factual as possible without revealing any names.
