Favorite moviesVagabond (French); Come and See (Russian) Pretty much any war film unless it is American -- OK, a few American war films make the list. Platoon does not. I also grew up on Jesus Christ Superstar, which I LOVE and which portrays Judas as a sympathetic character. (I do not like Mel's other film about his version of Jesus.) Anyway, I've also seen The Lost Boys a million times. And I LOVE The Ten Commandments. I (begin italics) am (end italics) Christian, but I grew up in about the most liberal Episcopalian church in the world, so I'm all about the "Holy, Holy, Holy Lord, God of Power and Might" version of God, and not at all into Hell and Damnation. My mum was a recovering Catholic until her death on Oct. 11, 2001, and she had some interesting fine-art depictions of Satan in books, etc., that she grew up with. But she was on a mission her whole life to find the Loving and Forgiving God that lets gays and lesbians take communion, etc. I'm just not into Hell. I like the version of Satan that has him, you know, sitting with God at a cafe figuring out how to test Job or Faust or whomever God wants to test. Satan as an agent of God. That's the only Satan I am good for. ;)
