Introduction	I have been teaching Italian for the past 17 years. Although it is supposed to be a profession, it is more than that. It is a who I am. My beginnings were in a public high school in 2000. Two short years later, my first son, Nico, was born and I began a new role as Italian teacher. My wife and I were adamant about wanting to pass on to our children our heritage and culture, including the language. I was prepared to teach 15 year olds. When my son arrived, I never realized how my teaching would change. After the birth of our second son, Damiano, my wife and I knew we had to do more. This was when we put our talents together (she is an early childhood teacher) and created Italian Language Littles, a program where we teach children from ages 2 and up. In the meantime, I have also picked up a few gigs teaching adults privately. So you can say that teaching Italian for me is not a job but my passion, my love, my whole being.
