| Introduction | I graduated from the International School of Midwifery in June 2008 and passed the NARM national licensure exam for midwives that same year. Currently I'm at FIU pursuing my Bachelors degree in Nursing. I'm also a stay-at-home mom with 3 children ages 8, 5 and 2. I'm certified as a Childbirth Educator, Breastfeeding Peer Counselor, Midwifery Assistant and in CPR and phlebotomy. I've had the privilege of attending over 100 labors and managed 50 births as primary-under-supervision of Licensed Midwives(LM) and Nurse Practitioners(ARNP). I've chosen to work as a postpartum doula because I feel a responsibility to share my knowledge, my energy and my love with those who are starting their journey into parenthood. As a postpartum doula I can do that without the hectic and unpredictable schedule of a midwife while my children are small. |
