| Introduction | I'm an avid YA reader and have been for over 20 years. When I was a teacher, I used to talk about new YA titles with my high school students, fellow teachers, and teens in my neighborhood. Now I am a professor who teaches YA lit and English education courses at Saint Louis University. I also produce monthly podcasts on YA lit for ReadWriteThink.org (www.readwritethink.org/textmessages). As a member of ALAN (The Assembly on Literature for Adolescents of NCTE), I served on the first Amelia Elizabeth Walden award committee. Now I serve as an elected member of ALAN's board of directors. |
