| Introduction | The short story: Only child. Born, 5/9/70 into a family of teachers. Raised by my mother, grandmother, aunt, and grandfather, and given everything and anything I wanted. Musician since age 5. Focus: Portuguese wedding bands, cover bands, original rock bands and senior citizen musical theater, in that order. Began abusing alcohol at age 15. Began abusing drugs at age 16. On Dec. 27, 2007 I was arrested for OUI (my second since 1989). The following day I decided to cease any and all drug and alcohol use. This is the story of discovering how the wonderously scary embrace of reality feels amidst a world full of smoke and mirrors. This blog begins on January 1, 2008 and at press time has no exit plan. |
| Interests | I have been an entertainer since the tender age of 5 when I first heard the sweet, sweet, sound of applause after a spontaneous soft shoe routine at Quincy Market Place in Boston. Instruments in order of appearance: voice, recorder, harmonica, Jews harp, violin, guitar, uke, and pedal-steel. I currenly play guitar and sing in a five piece rock group from Northampton MA named Drunk Stuntmen. I also play guitar in the Young at Heart Chorus. They are a group of 72-88 year olds who tour the world singing rock songs and gently trashing hotel rooms. Look for me in the Fox Searchlight movie entitled "Young at Heart" at select theaters near you. I have dabbled in tap dancing, puppet making, sewing, decoupage, photojournalism, and drawing. I am happy to recently include blogging. I hope someday that that the word blog will be replaced with something less annoying. |
